We are excited to announce our international expansion into Singapore. This strategic move strengthens our presence in the Asia-Pacific region, a critical market for global carbon credit initiatives and corporate sustainability efforts, and will support our mission to enable all organisations to build a thriving future for climate, nature and people.

The new presence will serve as our APAC headquarters, allowing our team to better connect with and support regional businesses in developing and implementing comprehensive carbon credit procurement strategies.

As part of this expansion, we are excited to announce that Bryan McCann will be joining our team as Head of Carbon Solutions APAC to lead our business development efforts in the region. Bryan brings extensive experience in environmental markets, academic and professional interest in international development and sustainable finance to Abatable. Prior to joining the team, he helped launch the public-private LEAF Coalition, raising over $1bn for forest protection, and was a Senior Director at Climate Impact X, developing expertise in helping corporates achieve their sustainability objectives through market-based solutions.

‘Establishing our first international presence in Singapore represents a significant milestone in Abatable’s growth journey,’ said Valerio Magliulo, CEO and Co-founder of Abatable. ‘The Asia-Pacific region is home to many of the world’s largest corporations that are increasingly prioritising voluntary climate action as part of their sustainability strategies. Our presence in Singapore will enable us to work more closely with these organisations, helping them navigate the complexities of the carbon markets and support high-integrity climate impact.’

Singapore’s strategic location, robust business ecosystem and strong governmental commitment to the development of global carbon markets make it a model hub for our international expansion. The country has positioned itself as a leader in climate action within the region, implementing forward-thinking initiatives like carbon taxation and pursuing strong carbon policy.

The move will build on our already strong track record in the region and expand the expertise and deep relationships we have built with key market stakeholders such as the ASEAN Alliance on Carbon Markets (AACM), project developers and corporate clients. Developing the carbon markets in ASEAN could unlock a cumulative revenue of $3tn for the region by 2050, as we highlighted in our recent report: The opportunities for carbon markets in ASEAN.

Meet the Abatable at Ecosperity Week 2025 in Singapore

As part of our move into Singapore we are also excited to be participating in Ecosperity Week 2025, hosted between 5 and 8 May at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre.

Asia is home to the world’s largest population and two of the three largest carbon emitters globally. Against a backdrop of geopolitical shifts and a recalibration of corporate climate ambition, Asia’s target of a 45% reduction in emissions by 2030 has become increasingly complicated.

Ecosperity Week 2025 offers a stocktake on where Asia stands in terms of meeting its 2030 decarbonisation goals, identifies strategic areas of systems-level change the region requires, explores viable decarbonisation pathways to 2030 and makes the case for developing resource and community resilience.

Get in touch with our team if you would like to connect at the event.
