The Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA) is ten years old, and nearly 700 airlines from 130 participating countries now have obligations under the scheme. Halfway through the First Phase, ICAO has released global aviation emissions growth data for 2024, resulting in airlines needing to compensate for 58mn tonnes of CO2e for that year.

Globally, some airlines have started to procure CORSIA-eligible emissions units (CEEUs) to comply with their obligations, while many others are still establishing the internal approaches to do so.

Meanwhile, a steady cadence of CEEUs is coming online for airlines to purchase as carbon project developers make their way through host countries’ authorisation processes.

In this webinar from Abatable, we’ll explore how airlines, project developers, and key market stakeholders are capitalising on the momentum of CORSIA a decade into the scheme. We’ll hear directly from airlines on how they are approaching procurement, from project developers on how they are viewing the market opportunity, and from other stakeholders on the key bottlenecks that remain to be overcome to establish a fully functional market.
